Easy Maple Butter Recipe - Maple Syrup Recipe

Maple butter is delicious on toast, waffles, muffins or anything on which you would normally spread jam. It's also delicious warmed up and poured over ice cream or poached apples or pears.

Recipe comes from Sweet Maple: Life, Lore and Recipes from the Sugarbush by James M. Lawrence
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 3/4 cup butter
Preparation:
  • Using a heavy-bottomed saucepan over low heat, heat maple syrup until 234 degrees Fahrenheit(soft ball stage on a candy thermometer).
  • Stir in butter.
  • Pour mixture into a deep bowl and beat with electric mixer until thick and creamy, about 4 minutes.
  • Keep stored in glass container in the refrigerator.
  • Spooned into decorative jelly jars, Maple Butter makes an excellent hostess gift.
