Winterlicious - Value Dining at Some of Toronto's Finest Restaurants

By Jane McLean, About.com

Winterlicious - Overview

Winterlicious happens annually in Toronto during its WinterCity celebration in January / February. Participating restaurants offer exceptional value and special fixed price menus. Prices are Cdn$15 or $20 for lunch and Cdn$25 or $35 for dinner.

Winterlicious 2008 takes place January 25 - February 7, 2008, with reservations being accepted beginning January 10th, 2008 (two days earlier for American Express holders).

Lunch and dinner fixed price menus include starter, entrée and dessert. Beverages, taxes and gratuity are not included. A 15-20% tip on the pre-tax bill is a standard expression of appreciation when dining out. Some restaurants will automatically add a gratuity to your bill, especially for large parties.

Winterlicious - Reservations

For reservations, contact the restaurants directly and say you would like to make a Winterlicious reservation.

Reservations can be made starting January 10th, 2008, and are strongly recommended.

American Express holders can book two days early with their cards. In some cases, like the restaurant Canoe, this is the only chance to get a reservation, so depending how much of a foodie you are, you may want to look into an American Express card.

Winterlicious - Culinary Events

In addition to the fixed price menu offerings at participating restaurants, Winterlicious offers unique culinary events, including special dining experiences, cooking demonstrations and more.

Participating Restaurants

More than 130 restaurants participate in Winterlicious. The vast majority of them are in Toronto's downtown core. Take this chance to sample the menu offerings of some of Toronto's finest restaurants.
