Shaw Festival in Brief:
The Shaw Festival is a theatre company featuring plays by George Bernard Shaw and his contemporaries. The lineup of plays has become particularly known for including those by forgotten female playwrights of Shaw's day, Canadian playwrights - both known and up and coming - and "undiscovered" or otherwise undervalued works.

Located in Niagara-on-the-Lake, the Shaw Festival produces 10 to 12 plays each season (May to November), with about 800 performances in four theatres. Approximately 300,000 people attend the Shaw Festival each year.
When is the Shaw Festival:
The Shaw Festival runs May to November each year.

The Shaw Festival offers film series or lectures occasionally outside of these months.
Where is the Shaw Festival:
The Shaw Festival is in Niagara-on-the-Lake, a small town next to Niagara Falls.

Shaw Festival performances take place in four theatres: The Festival Theatre, the Court House, the Royal George and the Studio Theatre.
What's Special about the Shaw Festival:
Aside from its pretty location in Niagara-on-the-Lake, the Shaw Festival is popular for being the only theatre that specializes in plays by Bernard Shaw and his contemporaries, and in plays about the period of Shaw’s lifetime. In addition, Shaw is one of a handful of theatre companies that has a permanent acting company.
Tickets for the Shaw Festival:
Each fall, the next season lineup is announced and tickets for that season go on sale in January (earlier for Shaw Festival members). The Shaw Festival 2010 season will be announced in fall 2009 and tickets go on sale to the general public in January 2010.
