Le Petit Alep, Syrian Restaurant, Montreal

By Jane McLean, About.com

Le Petit Alep Restaurant:
Le Petit Alep is a restaurant in Montreal serving delicious Syrian / Middle Eastern fare at very reasonable prices.

Le Petit Alep is the more casual bistro-style restaurant located next door to Alep, the more formal restaurant that also serves Syrian food. We prefer dining at Le Petit Alep but have ordered from the Alep menu even when seated on Le Petit Alep side.
What's on Le Petit Alep's Menu:
Popular Syrian / Middle Eastern fare, including
  • Falafel,
  • Kababs,
  • Eggplant,
  • Sausage and more.
Syrian cuisine favors lamb, beef, chick peas, spinach, eggplant, garlic, yogurt and mint.

Don't miss the Fattouche Salad - crisp bits of Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and crunchy pita bits in a lemony garlic dressing.

Another winner: Muhammara, a walnut garlic spread with pomegranate molasses - exquisite.

Other popular menu items include
  • Hummus,
  • Moussaka, and
  • Tabouleh
Le Petit Alep also offers superb coffee. Choose from more than 12 types of coffee on the menu.
