Quebec is famous for its production of maple syrup and in fact produces about 3/4 of the world's supply. In early March to April, one of the most popular early spring activities is to visit "sugar shacks" (maple syrup production facilities) across Quebec to watch maple sap being collected, boiled and converted to syrup. Here is a three-day itinerary for people in and around Montreal that includes two very different sugar shacks as well as a gourmet maple-themed meal in Montreal.

Day One: Arrive in Montreal, Maple-themed shopping, Maple-themed dining
Day Two: Lunch at Sucrerie de la Montagne, overnight at Auberge des Gallants
Day Three: Return to Montreal

Preparation:

• Check out passport requirements at the Canada border for necessary ID.
• Book your rental car either through the hotel or another Montreal car rental place.
• Make a reservation at Bistro Cocagne for your first night in Montreal.
• Book accommodation at for first night at a Montreal hotel and for the second night at Auberge des Gallants.
• Book maple visit at Sucrerie de la Montagne .
