Each year, the Rogers Chinese Lantern Festival takes place at Ontario Place on Toronto's waterfront. The Cinesphere is the focal point of this popular entertainment park. The spherical building houses Ontario Place's IMAX theatre - the first permanent IMAX® film theatre in the world.

During the Chinese Lantern Festival, the Cinesphere features nightly showings of the The First Emperor of China. Admission to the Cinesphere is included in the cost of the Lantern Festival.
