About 300,000 people come out to witness the jolly man's procession through the city.

The parade last about an hour and a half.

Tips for Visiting the Rogers Santa Claus Parade:
  • Talk to your kids about what to do if they get lost. Tell kids to go to one of the many policeman on duty or have a go-to meeting spot picked out.
  • Leave the car at home or far away from downtown.
  • Check the weather forecast before you head out.
  • How to Dress: Layers - fleece, waterproof jackets and comfortable waterproof footwear
  • Use of umbrellas will block the views of others.
  • Handy to have: blanket or chairs to hold your spot, tissue for cold, runny noses and a thermos of hot chocolate or warm soup.

Rogers Vancouver Santa Claus Parade - Best Viewing Locations:
Anyplace along the route will allow spectators a view of the parade; however, both sides of Georgia Street on the slope between Bute and Broughton, at the Vancouver Art Gallery, and at Robson Square on Howe Street probably offer the best views of the parade.

Keep in mind that watching the parade near the beginning of the route allows you to leave earlier, so spots along Georgia tend to fill up more quickly.

Spectators who are on Howe Street toward Davie will have to wait at least an hour for the parade to arrive.
