I've found VIA to be a clean, efficient way to travel in Canada. Trains run right across the country, but keep in mind, a train ride between Toronto and Vancouver takes about four days.
Some of the most popular rail legs include through the Rockies, and routes in Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes, where great Canadian destinations like Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax are relatively close to one another and scenery can be spectacular.
