Giving Thanks Canadian Style

Friday October 10, 2008
Like our U.S. friends to the south, Canadians give thanks once a year by gathering with friends and family and gorging themselves on turkey. Unlike in the U.S., Canada will observe Thanksgiving this weekend.

Not to ruffle any feathers, but I have to say I think the Canadian holiday is better timed: Canadian Thanksgiving in October is not so close to Christmas, so you don't get holiday burnout, and the autumn weather is at its finest in terms of weather and fall foliage viewing.

Is travel over Canadian Thanksgiving as bad as it is in the States during Thanksgiving?

You’re right about the weather, I bet having Thanksgiving now under beautiful fall foliage is pure gold!
