US Visitors to Canada Can Fly into Buffalo Niagara International Airport

Saturday April 7, 2007
Flying into the Buffalo Niagara International Airport for a visit to Canada has many advantages:
  • It's often cheaper to fly domestically than internationally, so flying from a US city to Buffalo instead of to Toronto may be significantly less expensive.
  • You don't need a passport to cross the US/Canada border by land, but you do need one if you arrive in Canada by air according to the new passport requirements for US citizens entering Canada.
  • The Buffalo Airport is about 30 minutes from Canada. Travelers can be in Toronto in less than two hours
  • The Buffalo Airport is relatively small and easy to get around.

Thanks for this article! I had heard it was easy to fly into Buffalo but I wasn’t sure how all the logistics worked. This article is very helpful and I think I’ll plan my next trip to Hamilton (I have good friends there) via Buffalo.
