Canada's Historic Railway Hotels

Wednesday March 15, 2006
Across Canada is a series of hotels built during the late 1800s / early 1900s that have become national icons.

The hotels were built by Canadian railway companies to provide a guaranteed level of luxury nationwide. Today, these "château" hotels, owned by Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, stand out as distinctly Canadian.

In the same way that you wouldn't go to Paris without visiting the Louvre, be sure to stop by for a drink and a look around one of these magnificent hotels, even if you don't plan to check in overnight.
